The person behind this
The Swing Is On is built and maintained by Lawrence De Pellegrin (he/him), an amateur psephologist based in Melbourne, Australia. He has a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics (BPPE) from the Australian National University and has had a keen interest in elections and demographic modelling for over a decade.

Independence
The Swing Is On is an independent hobby project. All development costs – including website hosting – are self-funded by its creator. No external funding, sponsorship, or institutional affiliation is involved.
All underlying data used in this project is publicly available: primary vote and preference distribution data from the AEC Tally Room and demographic data from the ABS TableBuilder Pro dataset. Anyone can access and verify the source data independently.
The creator of this site is associated professionally with the Australian Greens, but the party is not affiliated with this project in any way. The project is designed for equal and fair public use by all interested individuals and parties, and every effort has been made to ensure the methodology is objective and applied consistently across classifications.
If you notice any aspect of the methodology, classification system, or explanatory text that appears to have a partisan bias, please reach out – Lawrence will make every effort to review and address those concerns.
